Assisting Individuals in Crisis and Group Crisis Intervention (GRIN)

Dates: August 19, 20, and 21, 2026
Time: 8 AM – 4 PM CST
Format: Online via Zoom

This course provides specialized training in acute emergency mental health intervention, often referred to as “emotional first aid.” It presents the core elements of a comprehensive, multi‑component crisis intervention model. Participants will learn:

  • Fundamentals of Critical Incident Stress Management (CISM)
  • Individual and group crisis intervention techniques
  • Demobilizations, defusings, and Critical Incident Stress Debriefing (CISD)
  • Appropriate follow‑up and referral practices

This class is required for state chaplain certification. Participants must be 18 years or older.

Special Rate:
Chaplains and members of in‑state peer support teams may register for a special rate.
