                 1 Old Community College Drive
                Hazard, Kentucky 41701

 

 

The Basic Fire Chaplain Training is a two‑day course designed to introduce new chaplains to ministry within the fire service. Topics include:

  • Roles and responsibilities of fire chaplains
  • Ministering to firefighters and fire victims
  • Critical incident stress
  • Fire department funerals
  • Basic chaplain operations

Successful completion of this course partially fulfills the training requirements for certification through the Kentucky Fire Commission. It also serves as an excellent annual refresher for current chaplains. Participants must be 18 years or older to register.
